CBM H2O TREATMENT

ROUGHRIDER POWER

CBM FAIR 2007

WHAT WE DO:

We take sulfur dioxide gas and introduce it into a stream of CBM water. The gas is put through multiple scrubbing events and is absorbed into the water. The resulting sulfurous acid (H2SO3) solution is then discharged and mixed with raw CBM water in a ratio appropriate to the particular application. H2SO3 is an unstable compound and immediately attracts one additional oxygen atom from the dissolved oxygen in the water to form H2SO4, which is sulfuric acid. The acid is in weak dilution by mixture with the main body of CBM water. The discharge is safe to the touch. The acidic solution created is the result-controlled oxidation of sulfur and absorption into water. As the CBM water is pumped to the sprinkler an appropriate amount of soluble calcium is added to the CBM water.

We achieve 99.99% absorption of the SO2 gas created, which is well below US Environmental Protection Agency standards.

During the winter months treated water can be dispersed with the use of foggers.
