SAHARA SYSTEM

CBM H2O TREATMENT

ROUGHRIDER POWER

CBM FAIR 2007

APPLICATION

The Sahara System is designed for methane production from coal beds with a bottom hole pressure up to 500psi.

NEW WELLS

Only methane is produced at the wellhead.  Installation of a Sahara System overcomes most objections by regulatory bodies, land owners, ranchers, farmers, and conservation organizations concerning water management.

Government agencies, surface owners, and environmental groups primary objections arise from the water produced during conventional CBM production.

The water management plans, whether or not the water contains unwanted sodium and other contaminants, causes delays in obtaining drilling permits.  The operator must come up with acceptable water management plans…the more contaminants, the more time required for testing water before obtaining permission to drill.

There is also environmental concern over the possibility that during water management, methane contained in the water/gas stream is released into the atmosphere.

Eliminating water from CBM production removes these concerns.  The Sahara System does not affect the penetrated aquifers.

PRODUCING WELLS

The expense of water production and management is eliminated.  No maintenance or replacement is needed for pumps and the associated water management systems.  Continuous operation can often result in increased production since down-time is not a factor.

The test wells have been in operation for several years without stoppage due to system malfunction.
